Hello <<First Name>>,

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family. I’ve been enjoying the start of the holiday season as I prepare for the launch of my new book, Outthinking Fear: A Neurosurgeon’s Secrets To Making Life’s Tough Decisions. I look forward to the release of the book in 2019 and will continue to post all book updates on my social media channels so be sure to follow along.

Last month, I shared that I proudly coach youth wrestling and get to share my passion with great kids. We had a wonderful time continuing to grow the sport of youth wrestling in Trenton at our Trenton Makes Champions event this month. We had a dinner and wrestling clinic with Kyle Snyder, Olympic Gold medalist and reigning World Champion and Axa Molina, 2x College All-American and 2x Senior All-American. I cannot thank everyone enough for the time they put in to make this event successful. I’m truly fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of Trenton Youth Wrestling

This month we honored the 243rd Birthday of the United States Marine Corps! We are very proud of our son, Patrick who will be joining the Marine Corps soon. He recently received his service selection at USNA. We look forward to his bright future ahead and could not be more proud.

I recently had a remarkable experience with a patient that I wanted to share with you. Ken was living the life most 70 year olds dream of until the pain struck. Out of nowhere he began experiencing an intermittent stabbing, electrical shock-like pain seemingly searing into his right cheek. Three months ago he boarded a plane from Hawaii to consult with me about corrective surgery for his Trigeminal Neuralgia. About eight weeks ago, I performed a microvascular decompression on his trigeminal nerve by moving a tiny blood vessel away from his compressed nerve. He flew back home to Hawaii and is now surfing again. Microvascular Decompression of the Trigeminal Nerve cured his pain and he no longer needs medications. It is an honor that he would come so far to entrust his life with me and my team at CentraState Medical Center. I'm thrilled to see the smile on his face.

I want to thank you again for letting me share my journey with you. It was a pleasure to be in touch again! I hope you enjoy a great holiday season.

Warm regards,
Mark
