Wine Before Breakfast

The Campus Chapel is continuing its Advent tradition of Wine Before Breakfast, a contemplative service of prayer and communion followed by a light breakfast. All are welcome for this peaceful and reflective way to prepare for Christ’s arrival in what can be a very busy season. Please join us at the Chapel (1236 Washtenaw Ct.) on Tuesday mornings in December (the 4th, the 11th, and the 18th). Worship is at 7:30 AM, and breakfast at 8:00 AM.
Hope Clinic has two programs running this Christmas where help is needed:
  • The Christmas Gift Shop is where they collect gifts and open up a free store for people to come in and shop for their families.  You can find a wish list for the Christmas Gift Shop at thehopeclinic.org/christmaslist
  • The Adopt-a-Family program matches up families so that a family in need supplies a Christmas list and a family or church group volunteers to buy gifts for them.  They have around 100 families who still need a family/group match. If interested in sponsoring a family, contact vivian.weaver394@gmail.com and dbrown@thehopeclinic.org
Friends In Deed is holding a Holiday Bed & Crib Drive, wherein people throughout the Washtenaw County community donate funds to purchase new beds & cribs for families living in poverty.  Click here for more details.
While the drive runs throughout November and December, donations made on Giving Tuesday, November 27th will be matched 25% by Van Winkle Mattress Co. In past years, this has added 15-20 additional beds to the total purchased for distribution throughout the year. Donations can be made at https://www.friendsindeedmi.org/bed-crib/.
Inspire 2019 will be held August 1-3 in Windsor, Ontario.  Registration will open in February. Barb Fichtenberg will be coordinating sign-ups for those who would like to get the group rate.  A sign-up sheet will be available on the bulletin board in late January.  Click here for more details about this event.
Tuesday Night Dinner for College and Career Students:  You are welcome to dinner at the Lindquist's home every Tuesday night. Come, have a good meal, and enjoy the fellowship of others. Dinner begins at 7 pm. Contact Mary Lindquist for more information.

Youth Programming Corner
AACRC families with children (PreK through 5th grade) will receive an Advent countdown paper chain craft kit in their church mailbox.  The interactive activities on each link will help children countdown the days as they open their hearts to share their talents and treasures while waiting to welcome the Wonderful Counselor.  As a family, link the colorful self-adhesive paper strips together and apply tape for a more secure hold.  Then remove one link for each day of Advent!
