The two highlights of this fall for us have been the recent "tremendous success" 😂of the guy who tried to take over our newsletter a while ago, and our annual Point Nine Founder Meetup. Especially this time, as we merged our 7th annual PNC SaaS Founder Meetup and our 4th annual Marketplace Founder Meetup into our first-ever whole-portfolio Founder Summit. After months of preparation - and excited anticipation - we finally had the joy to spend three amazing days in Spain with the entire #p9family. Here’s our traditional GIF report.

We’ve had a bit of a “back to our roots” (and then right into the future) moment, as Mavenoid combines one of our first loves from the past – customer support software (👋 Zendesk) – with the future of AI. Doc Brown and Marty McFly Christoph and Robin worked hard to convince the Mavenoid founders, who have developed an AI-powered tech support platform that automates troubleshooting, to join the #p9family. Mission accomplished, back to the present.

We’re also thrilled to see Preply, a marketplace that lets you learn languages from teachers all around the world, join the #p9family. At Point Nine we know the problem of people having a thick accent and poor English writing skills (the grammar police is looking at you #papaclemenz 👀👮), so imagine our joy when we finally found this awesome team, which is on a mission to help #papaclemenz people all over the world learn languages in a frictionless way. 🙏

• It’s only a month since we’ve announced our investment in Tier and the shared scooter company is already on a roll: the team just raised an extra €25M, launched the service in its first city (👋Vienna) and is hiring like crazy. 🚀

• Our friends at the SaaS banking engine company Mambu are also on fire: during the summer mercato they attracted no less than former SAP CEO Henning Kagermann to their board. Mambu also hosted its first-ever user conference, the Mambu Summit, in Berlin. Check out the videos and information on further upcoming Mambu Summits here.

• Chartmogul continues its global “platform expansion” with a new Shopify extension that lets merchants analyze non-subscription revenue. Chartmogul is not here to take part, it’s here to take over.

• In a cool video, Loom teased an exciting Pro offer with many 🔥 features such as HD recording, a drawing tool, viewer analytics, video call-to-action, trimming and a desktop app. TAKE MY MONEY!!

• Gengo just launched Gengo.ai, which gives you access to 22,000 linguists to annotate your machine learning data. Using humans to train AI to get smarter. Woot!

• Last, but definitely not least, Juro published an eBook packed with great tips on how to get started with legal operations.

• Between two pints of Guinness, Louis found time to publish the slides of his SaaStock presentation: “Understanding VCs’ decisions”. 🍻🇮🇪

• In his post “How Westwing beat the odds with the right yin and yang” Christoph shared 26 fun facts. You won’t believe #12. Not sure you’ll believe #21 either. #9 is definitely the most hilarious one. Be careful, #7 is NSFW.

• Apparently, Clément doesn’t understand that he works for a Venture Capital firm: #SaaS: A landscape of the growing number of alternatives to VC funding”. 🤔

• And Christoph apparently has a bit of a love/hate relationship with later-stage VCs. 👼😈

• Our landscape collection is growing thanks to Julia who published “Mapping the European B2B Marketplace Landscape”. 🗺

• In “Founder Share Vesting — Finding the Right Balance”, our legal superhero Tilman explains the ins and outs of founder vesting.

• Our Industry 4.0 influencer, Robin, shared six takeaways from the latest event he organized together with Atomico.

• Point Nine is happy to support Dealroom’s launch in Berlin and their series of initiatives to discuss Berlin’s global position as tech hub. Berlin for the win!!

• Julia, Pawel, Louis, and several other P9 members will be are at The Marketplace Conference in Berlin on November 28  RIGHT NOW.

• Julia and Robin will fly to Helsinki on December 4-5 to attend Slush.
