The Science of Gratitude
Another reason to thank some recent donors on Giving Tuesday!

Loads of studies have documented the long term health benefits to individuals who regularly express gratitude.  They sleep better, they are more resilient following traumatic events, they report higher levels of job satisfaction... And it's not just a cultural construct. Chimps know that grooming a friend nets some reciprocal altruism benefits (this attractive pal will be more likely to share his food later).

The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkley has published a summary of research describing the expression of gratitude as a legitimate intervention with positive medical and psychological rewards.

It's with this science - and the spirit of the holiday season - in mind, that we would like to thank the individuals and business donors who pledged annual financial support at this year's Molecular Mixer.  Some of those listed also provided event sponsorship or in-kind donations for the event.
