Generation Green Presents an Environmental Film:
"Modified"
Tuesday November 27th, 7 pm
Peacock Theater @ Rossmoor
1001 Golden Rain Road, Walnut Creek, CA
In the new award-winning documentary, “Modified”, the filmmaker and her mother embark on a personal and poignant investigative journey to find out why genetically modified organisms (GMO’s) are not labeled on food products in the United States or Canada, despite being labeled in Europe and 64 countries around the world. Shot over a span of ten years, the film explores the impacts of genetically engineering our food, exposing the cozy relationship between the agribusiness industry and our governments. The film debunks the myth that GMO’s are needed to feed the world and makes a compelling plea for a more sustainable and transparent food system. This is a free film and all are welcome. Any donations will be given to Generation Green, the fiscal sponsor for various environmentally-conscious education programs and events. Among them are the Contra Costa County Climate Leaders Program, Sustainable Schools Connection and the Dumpster Diversion Project (DDP). The film is 87 minutes long with a Q&A afterwards.
