Dangerous conditions Wednesday - Sydney and Illawarra
BOM has issued a warning for the Sydney and Illawarra coasts for Wednesday afternoon and evening.
A low approaching NSW from the west is expected to intensify as it crosses central parts of the New South Wales coast during Wednesday, bringing strong winds and gales to some areas on Wednesday and Thursday.
Seas on the Sydney and Illawarra coasts will be around 3 to 4 metres. There will be mixed swells of up to 5 metres, south to southeasterly and east to northeasterly. Swell direction and strength will vary during the day.
Large and powerful surf conditions Wednesday afternoon and evening are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.

Always tell someone where you are going and when you plan on coming back. If the rock platform is wet ask yourself 'why is it wet?' then watch the ocean for waves and swells for at least 20 minutes. Always fish with a friend, wear proper rockfishing footwear, light warm high visibilty clothing, and wear a life jacket in case you get washed in.
