Positive Behaviours

Thanks to everyone who responded. The results of the surveys found they in general staff, students and parents are happy with the process to date. We identified some areas that we need to improve in, particularly with education of parents, consistency with staff and making sure that students understand that this applies as much in the playground and school visits as it does in the classroom.

Our plan is to  address this areas from the start of  2019.

Improvements in Maths

I would like to publicly acknowledge the work of the students and staff on the improvements that we are seeing across the whole school, specifically in areas of Number via the Targeting Maths Initiative. Mrs Allibon and more recently, Mrs Allibon and  Mrs Dent have been working to assist teachers improve their skills in the teaching of Number. Teachers have also been provided with the opportunity to observe other teachers teach and reflect on what they have seen and how this can applied to their classroom experiences.

First Reconciliation
We congratulate our Yr 2 children who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time last Wednesday evening. It was a wonderful experience with the children’s parents introducing their child to Fr Joel and Fr Marco before the Rite of Reconciliation. After the children reverently said their penance and prayers of thanks they received a balloon to take home as a reminder of the wonderful celebration of God’s love and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Thank you to Marlo Wild, Fiona Davis and Trent Perczyk for preparing the children so well. Thank you also to Fr Joel and Fr Marco.

It certainly was a joyous celebration of God’s great love and healing power.

Lots of fun was had at the picnic with Fr Joel the week before! Thank you to all the families who joined us for the evening.

Last Sunday we celebrated the feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe (The Feast of Christ the King). This is the last Sunday of the Church’s Liturgical year with the new year commencing this Sunday – the first Sunday of Advent.

RE:  UPGRADE TO SCHOOL STREAM APP
Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to the new School Stream update being released on the Apple and Google Play Store.
Please check that you update the app when it’s released. You can even set your phone’s app updates to automatic. Here are the instructions for the Apple App Store (https://goo.gl/mvC9as) and the Google Play Store (https://goo.gl/XCgkL1).
To get the most out of the app features we do recommend creating an account so you can easily manage the content the school sends through.
To create an account, go to the side menu via the top-left corner and click on "Log-in". This is a quick and easy process that will require your first and last name, and a mobile number, email, or Facebook account authorisation.
Once you have created your account, you will be able to access all of the new app features.

St. Patrick's School Albury acknowledges the contribution given to us by the 'Parliament and Civics Education Rebate' (PACER) which allowed us to take our year 6 children on the excursion to Canberra.  This covered the units of Human Society and Its Environment that Year 6 have been working on "State & Federal  Governments"
The children had a fantastic time and it was a wonderful experience for all.
