SUPPORT THE NEXT DECADE OF
INNOVATIVE & ACCESSIBLE PROGRAMMING
IN HONOR OF THE GUILD'S FIRST 30 YEARS

This year for Giving Tuesday, in honor of the Guild's 30th anniversary in 2019, we invite you to join these authors in helping us to usher in a new decade of innovative and accessible programming at the intersections of literary arts, activism, and community. The Guild's programs connect artists and audiences across Chicago’s neighborhoods, and across boundaries of discipline, background, language, and experience.

Over the next year, The Guild will be raising $30k for the 30th year of the organization in order to expand our core programming in scope and ambition, present a series of unique celebratory anniversary programs and events, and consolidate the Guild’s history to serve as a resource for the future.

Many of Chicago’s most respected and accomplished writers -- friends and associates of the Guild, including members of our Board of Directors – have come together to pledge their support for the Guild's mission, and to issue a challenge to the Guild community:

The Guild Literary Complex is a 501c3 nonprofit bringing together the varied voices of Chicago and the world through innovative and integrative programming highlighting the intersections of marginality, the power of community, the impact of arts and activism, with a mission of social justice and literary arts for all. We are your on-going curated literary festival serving Chicago’s 50 wards since 1989.

Working in collaboration with the City of Chicago and organizations like the Poetry Foundation, The Museum of Contemporary Art, The Chicago Literary Hall of Fame, The Southeast Asian Center, Brooks Permissions, Third World Press, Sones de Mexico and many others, the Guild Literary Complex creates dynamic programming highlighting our varied and robust literary community speaking from and giving voice to the margins.

Guild Complex is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. Additional support comes from The Chicago Community Trust, The Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, the MacArthur Fund for Arts & Culture at The Richard H.
