We hope that those of you who joined us for the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Sport Awards had a fantastic night and enjoyed celebrating the people and organisations that make grassroots sport and activity happen across the county.

Local heroes honoured on special night for physical activity and sport
The Bucks & MK Sport Awards took place on 22nd November and celebrate the people and organisations who make physical activitiy and sport happen across the county. Guests were also entertained by guest speaker Paralympian Aaron Phipps and witnessed Sophie Christiansen CBE being inducted into the hall of fame. Leap Partners forum - 30th January
Our next partners forum will be themed around active environments/active design, so if you’re interested in knowing more about how to encourage more active lifestyles through the built environment or green infrastructure please book on.  Pencilled in to speak are Sport England, Sustrans and a Healthy Town Project from a neighbouring county with more speakers to be added shortly. Guidance and tools to help you demonstrate the difference your projects make
Want to be able to demonstrate the difference you make? We've just launched a light touch evaluation framework designed to guide and support you to measure the outcomes for physical activity and sport projects. With a selection of validated tools this framework can help you to demonstrate how your project contributes to both local and national outcomes. Click here to find out more. 

RED-dy Set Go! 
The aim of RED Janury is to encourage people to support their mental health by getting active every day during the month. Anything counts from a 5k run or swimming each day to walking a new way to work just choose something low cost and flexible suitable for your level of fitness.

This two hour practical and interactive workshop aims to provide attendees with a better understanding of the evaluation techniques available to measure project outcomes.

Volunteers play a pivotal role in the success of our local sports and community clubs, this workshop will help you to recruit and retain your volunteers.

Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity
A three hour workshop designed to give coaches, volunteers, sport administrators and front of house staff the confidence to support people with experience of mental health problems to be more active.

Local funding opportunities

Thames Valley Housing Community Chest
Grants are available to fund a wide range of projects that contribute to the growth and development of communities in specific areas. Buckinghamshire areas included are: Aylesbury, Wendover and High Wycombe.

Grants of up to £5,000
Application deadline: 7th January

Central and Social Recreational Trust
Grants are available for sports clubs and organisations in England to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation for the benefit of disadvantaged children under the age of 21. 
Grants of between £1,000
Application deadline: Applications may be submitted at any time

William Harding's Charity
Grants are available for voluntary and community groups, clubs, schools and individuals based in Aylesbury towards education, one-off projects, relief in need and for the general benefit of Aylesbury town residents. 

Grants of varying amounts
Application deadline: Applications may be submitted at any time

Heathrow Community Fund - Communities Together
Grants are available to local authorities, schools, charities, community groups, social enterprises and not for profit companies for local community project in the Heathrow area that focus on protecting / enhancing the environment and / or bringing communities together and improving community life. Covers South Bucks. 
Grants of up to £5,000
Application deadline: In 2019 - 29th Jan, 26th Apr, 23rd Jul and 25th Oct.
