Put yourself in the picture!
Kuba Bakowski, our current artist in residence has a photo project that he would like you to be part of!

On
Saturday, November 24, at 4pm, head down to just beside the ferry landing to take part in a photo shoot. It will take approximately 1 hour or so. Bring any light emitting device you have (cell-phone, flashlight , head lamp) You basically just have to stand and point a light back at the camera. We have some lights as well.

"Originally based in Poland, this is my second time in Canada to create a photographic project about the People of the North and most recognized northern hemisphere star constellation of Great Bear (Big Dipper / Ursa Major). In winter 2016 I created first part of the project in Délįne - Sahtu Dene First Nations community settlement on the coast of Great Bear Lake, NTW and now I am here in Dawson to continue this project. This project depends on the participation of local people and I would like to invite 19 members of Dawson community to participate. It is meant as a group performance in a waterfront area which result will be a large scale photography with a “luminous drawing” of whole 19 star constellation of Great Bear (Ursa Major). This light-drawing structure would be created with the use of flashlights, burning branches, i-phones and different sources of light held by Dawson City community members against the night sky in the landscape of the Yukon river."
