In an active collaboration between the Toronto Ward Museum, OCASI – Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants, and the University of Toronto, Journeys to the Frontline, was launched. The online multimedia exhibition shares the stories of eight professionals in the immigrant and refugee-serving sector. You can listen to or read about their departure points, experience arriving in Canada, and their career paths.

According to The Conference Board of Canada's 2018 Strengthening Canada's Immigration System Report, there are 500 organizations across the country dedicated to providing newcomers the support they need to thrive, making us a nation that is wealthy of inclusion and integration stories. The Journeys to the Frontline exhibition captures some of those stories and we invite you to visit the platform and learn about the immigrant experience. 

We met Dixy Valdez, founder of La Villa Goods, at the Startup Crawl Trade Show. Her business sells designed and curated home and fashion accessories that are ethically made in El Salvador. A socially conscious business owner, Dixy's goal is to create a positive social impact within her artisan community.
