We're back in snowy Wisconsin after a long trip that took us over 5,000 miles all over the eastern United States. Despite all the driving, we really enjoyed reconnecting with friends and updating churches and supporters about our work. It's been a real blessing to be so warmly received wherever we go. Thankfully the kids have done very well with all the traveling, and we were able to make fun stops along the way.
While we minister in the US, we've been happy to hear that the literacy work in Liberia is moving ahead and that over 150 men, women and children in three communities are now learning to read and write in their mother tongue. The Scripture recordings we produced also continue to bear fruit as they are used in the village Discovery Bible Study and other avenues of outreach. One Muslim-background believer wrote recently and said, "The recordings are highly inspiring, and have always attracted Mandingo people or those who understand Mandingo. It makes it easier to reach out in sharing the gospel."
Hearing reports like this make us look forward to returning to Liberia on January 13th. The kids have done very well here, but they all talk about missing their friends and home in Voinjama. With the majority of our speaking engagements out of the way, we look forward to spending the remainder of our time in Wisconsin enjoying the holiday season with relatives and our church family.
As we enter the holiday season, we are reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. We've seen so many answers to prayer in the last few months, and we're constantly blown away by the generosity of the body of Christ. Thanks again for your partnership in bringing the Good News of Immanuel "God with us" to the least-reached of Liberia!
