Dear Colleague,
As a cluster we have a small pot of funding to put towards a cluster wide music project. Having consulted with teachers at the past two music cluster meetings I have devised a transition project working with professional musicians from the Shelburne Ensemble.
All schools in the Devizes cluster are invited to be a part of the project.
The project will focus on a day of music making for all participants including those who play an instrument and those who don't. There will be an element of composition as well as a chance to work with and listen to professional musicians.
Secondary schools would need to commit to a space that can be used for the day as well as organising year 7s to be involved. Primary schools would need to be able to transport their year 6s (and possibly 5s depending on size of school and how many want to be involved). All schools involved will be asked to contribute £50 towards the project. The rest of the funding is coming from Wiltshire Music Connect.
There are still some details to be worked out, so at the moment I am just asking for schools to let me know if they think they would like to be involved.
If you would like to know more or would like to express your schools interest in the project please email me Devizes@wiltshiremusicconnect.org.uk by Friday 7 December.
Kind regards
Emily Malcolm
