FUN DEVELOPMENT
EMILY, (CRAFT IN AMERICA, Director):
Remembers playing with the 13 SHOE ZOO ANIMALS mounted on the wall of the OHRBACH’S children’s shoe department at Wilshire and Fairfax.
ALEC, (CSUN ARTS ALUMNI, reception and talk):
“Got an eerie feeling”, only to discover that he had played on the Tigers as a kid. “My Mom would take me there every weekend!”
ANNETTE, (OTIS ART STUDENT, Talk)
“My Mom would drive us from Ventura to Thousand Oaks so we could play on them! There was no other playground like it. We liked to slide down the Tigers tails.”
AURELIA, (PWQ WOOD SHOP TALK):
Her AUNT HALLIE commissioned 1 of the 5 rocking zebras.
Aurelia said Hallie would hide Easter eggs in the secret head and body compartments! The ROCKING ZEBRA was also the seasonal photo op.
It gives me thrills and chills to think about how many thousands of kids have had the experience of growing up with my wooden sculptures.
