Lakeshore Community Holiday Gift Card Drive

As the holidays approach and 2018 comes to an end, we want to make sure every member of our Lakeshore community has a happy and healthy holiday.

From now through Dec. 14, if you would like to donate a gift card for groceries, clothing, or other necessities (Target, Lucky, Safeway, etc) to help Lakeshore families, you can bring them to Ms. Nicole, Ms. Classy, or Ms. Sadja.

If you are a family who needs a little help this holiday season, please contact Ms. Nicole at ambrosion@sfusd.edu or Ms. Classy at martinc@sfusd.edu.
Help Wanted: Leopard Store Shopkeepers (K-2)
Be a part of the positivity! Leopard Bucks and the Leopard Bucks Store are key to our school's PBIS program. Leopard Bucks are given as recognition when students make the choice to uphold Lakeshore's core values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.

A visit to the "store" is an exciting opportunity for students to exchange their hard-earned Leopard bucks for a tangible token of their positive choices.

As shopkeeper, you will open the store for one grade, and you can choose which grade you sign up for. A "shift" is 1 hr 15 mins. You can commit to one time or multiple shifts.

Most importantly, as Shopkeeper you will support PBIS at Lakeshore and share in the good feeling generated by students who are proud of their positive choices. Thank you for helping out!

Grades 3-5: Teachers run the Leopard store. Please contact your child's teacher to see if they'd like your help!
Staff Appreciation Luncheon: Food & Volunteers Needed
Our annual Winter Staff Appreciation Luncheon will be on Monday, December 17 (11:30am-1:30pm) in the Community Room. Since the holidays are just around the corner, we will be serving holiday favorites and comfort foods for our incredible teachers and staff.

We need some volunteers to bring our luncheon together by cooking up family favorite recipes and for setup anytime between 8-11:30am and break down starting at 1:30pm. Sign up online at http://bit.ly/ls18lunch2 or email volunteer@LakeshoreElementary.org if you can help.

Please contact Gabi Rosal if you have any questions. Let's show our wonderful teachers and amazing staff our gratitude for all the hard work they do for our children and community day in and day out!
December PTA Meeting: Thursday, Dec. 13
Please join us for the December PTA meeting on Thursday, December 13 from 6-7:30pm. We will vote on small budget amendments, and will hold our rescheduled program about PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports). Our guest will be Lisa Bohorquez, the SFUSD Safe and Supportive Schools Coach. She will explain PBIS, the model Lakeshore follows for managing student behavior and responding to discipline issues, and how Leopard Bucks are key to our school's PBIS program.

ELAC Meeting & Holiday Celebration: Friday, Dec. 7 (6pm) Rm. 5
Parents of English learners are invited to bring a dish to share to celebrate the holidays.

Danielle Uttley, SFUSD Family Education Integration Specialist, English Learner Program and Services/DELAC Liaison will present an informational meeting on the new ELPAC assessment for English learners and reclassification update. Chinese and Spanish translation will be provided.
Lakeshore Library Wishlist
We have created an Amazon Wishlist that will help support our students.
Shop for Our Library
Click above or visit http://a.co/iemkQMw to support our library.

Many of the books on the wishlist are high interest books that we cannot purchase from our library vendor, or books that have been requested by students or teachers that we’d love as soon as possible. The Lakeshore library only has a one-time order through the district that usually arrives in late January, but there are so many new books we’d love to read before that! Also, to comply with library durability standards, all books must be in hardcover or library binding format. Thank you for your support!
