Film Night presents Journey's End                         Friday 30 November 7.30 pm                                       Doors Open at 7.00 pm.                        £7.00 (includes free drink *)

As the finale to our Autumn Season, we are screening the recent adaptation of R C Sherriff's Journey's End as part of the the celebration of 25 years of his legacy which advances arts in Elmbridge. Part of that legacy supports the work of the Vera Fletcher Hall, making it possible for us to bring professional drama and music to the Hall.

The action of Journey's End takes place during the Spring Offensive in Northern France in 1918. War-weary Captain Stanhope (Sam Claflin) soaks his fear of the looming horror in whisky as his fellow officers try to distract themselves with memories of food and life back home before the war. The film has received critical praise for the acting from the talented cast and the hard-hitting urgency of the atmosphere created.
