Generosity Sunday - LEAP

LEAP will be the Generosity Sunday recipient on December 2nd.  LEAP empowers Latino and other children in Durham to achieve academic success by providing a high-quality preschool and on-going support through middle school. Last year, 95% of the school-age tutoring students were promoted to the next grade. A remarkable 100% of the pre-K students exceeded nationally-established widely-held expectations in social-emotional and cognitive development.

Online giving at ERUUF: We've partnered with Kindrid/give.church so you can decide how and when to give, digitally. Want to schedule it? Use a bank account or credit card? Text it? All you need is a smart phone or computer to start.
Go to: http://bit.ly/EGIVE
To donate to LEAP via text, include the word GENEROSITY.

Poinsettia Sale!

Poinsettias will be on sale this Sunday during both coffee hours. Proceeds go toward scholarships for the Coming of Age trip to Boston. Plants are $10 each, cash and credit cards accepted. (Should you desire to purchase and donate a poinsettia to be given to ERUUF members at senior residential communities, they will be delivered by Pastoral Care Associates).

Casserole and Cookie Day

Sunday December 2nd is Casserole and Cookie Day! Each month, dedicated volunteers prep casseroles and make cookies for ERUUF crews who serve dinner on the first Sunday at Urban Ministries Community Cafe. This month's generous cooks are Joyce Boucheron, Judith Hollowood along with members of Spiritual Threads, Lynette Keyes-Elstein, Kelly Eppley, Tamar Schlekat, Kim Walker, and Sally Franz. Please thank them when you see them. If you are interested in being on one of these teams for 2019 (our first Sunday will be January 6th), or in other activities of ERUUF's Homeless Action partnership with Urban Ministries, email homelessaction@eruuf.org

Volunteers Needed for
Kwanzaa Karamu (Feast) on Dec. 29 and 30

We need volunteers (individuals and groups) to help with many tasks including cooking and serving the Kwanzaa Feast at ERUUF. We're asking you or your group to volunteer for one of the following projects:
On Sat, Dec 29 - 1. Help us cooking the feast using authentic, traditional recipes and food that will be provided, or 2. Decorate the Commons Room and the Fellowship Hall.
On Sun, Dec 30 - 1. Set up the Commons Room and the Fellowship Hall, 2. Clean up after the event, or 3. Serve the food.

Last year our holiday season Kwanzaa Karamu served up traditional, authentic African-American food and lots of joy. More than 300 happy ERUUFians attended. This year’s feast will take place on Sunday, December 30, after the single service.  The Kwanzaa Karamu is sponsored by the ERUUF Mulitcultural Team (MCT).
