Give the Gift of a Handmade Life
My inbox is so full these days and it seems like there are more and more things competing for my attention. In busy times like these, I turn to making - to do something with my hands and spend time focused on beauty. I am so grateful for the family and friends who taught me to embroider, to sew, and to knit - a gift that has given so much to my life. One of my goals for Ms. Cleaver has been to share that knowledge with others and build their handmade skills.
Learn to Knit
I first learned to kit from a kit I received as a Christmas gift. I designed my own Knitting 101 Kit based on that experience and improved it with high-quality American-made materials, a pattern designed especially for the very beginner, and a full-color booklet of step-by-step photos (my favorite way to learn new techniques). All of my embroidery kits are also designed to be accessible to new stitchers and include all the materials you need, plus a color-guide to basic stitches.
Indie Design Gift Along
If you're looking to knit a gift for someone in your life, be sure to check out the Indie Design Gift Along hosted on Ravelry - this event brings together over 300 designers plus thousands of knitters to knit (or crochet) handmade gifts and support independent designers. From November 23rd, 2018 at 8:00 pm US EST to November 29th at 11:59pm US EST tons of indie designers will be discounting between 10 - 20 of their patterns 25% for this event. Use the code giftalong2018 during the sale window to get a selection of my patterns on both Ravelry and MsCleaver.com for 25% off.
Whether it's for yourself or an inspiring maker in your life, there's no better gift than the gift of handmade.
With gratitude,
Leah
