Despite what the pharmaceutical industry would have you believe, the opioid epidemic has not ended—and neither have industry efforts to profit from it. PharmedOut is working on unique projects that will expose how pharma continues to promote opioids through continuing medical education, patient advocacy groups, and professional organizations.
PharmedOut is at the forefront of exposing covert promotion of dangerous opioids; in addition to our groundbreaking research, we’re planning our “Opioids: Conflicts and Controversies” conference for June 13-14, 2019.
Most conferences are just talk, but not ours. PharmedOut’s conference will double as a call to action. We plan to convene an opioid working group that will meet regularly and work together to combat corporate efforts to preserve—and continue to profit from—the opioid epidemic. We want to raise $50,000 for our program to fight back against the crisis.
Opioid promotion hasn’t stopped, but neither have we.
