A LETTER FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Girls rock! Support Newark Arts and watch art flourish via programs such as Open Doors Kids.
Dear Friend,
Newark Arts is fighting every day to create a city of the arts, reflecting all voices. In so many ways, the arts are a powerful response to the tenor of our times.
This is why I’m asking for your help to do even more…to generate art for city and community spaces. To beautify city blocks with murals and public art. To support music on stages and sidewalks. To amplify spoken word on street corners and in cafes. To secure stable places for visual artists to flourish.
As an independent nonprofit, Newark Arts powers the arts to transform lives and advocates for artists and the cultural economy. We push for affordable live/work spaces. We host the annual Newark Arts Festival, which includes Open Doors Kids. We seek out best practices for diversity, equity, and access.
“The 2018 Newark Arts Festival was accessible to more people – there was art for everyone.” - Newark Arts Festival Artist
