Dear District Four,
I have been proud to serve Salt Lake City for the last three years as a Member of the City Council, so it is with great gratitude, and a bit of sorrow, that I must resign from this position, effective January 1, 2019. It truly has been a great honor to represent the residents of District Four.
In my time on the Council, I feel lucky to have been able to participate in policy matters that will leave a positive and lasting mark on our growing community. These past few years have brought enormously impactful work, such as re-aligning our homeless services model, securing the historic $21 million investment in affordable housing, and investing in transit like no other Council has done before, among others. I am incredibly proud of this legacy and look forward to amplifying these same values at the State level.

While I will be taking on a new role as Utah State Senator for District 2, I know that my experience in the City Council will help me be an advocate for Salt Lake City. With continued local support, I will work with current and future City leaders to advance the interests of Salt Lake City residents from Capitol Hill.
I look forward to this new relationship and encourage community members to continue seeing me as a resource and ally for Salt Lake City and its residents.
The Council encourages you to attend its next meeting! Council Meetings generally consist of a:
Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Meeting Room 326, 2:00 p.m., during which the Council, acting as the RDA Board, works with communities to implement Salt Lake City's master plan to create vital housing opportunities, improve infrastructure, and participate in the economic development of the city.
City Council Work Session Room 326, immediatley following RDA, during which the Council receives information and discusses items relating to City business prior to adopting into law, and a
Formal City Council Meeting Room 315, 7:00 p.m., during which the Council takes action to adopt proposals into law and provides opportunity for public comment.
