Hey Developer Community!

I hope you're having a good kick off to your holiday season. Hopefully you're all embracing the lull in activity and the darkness by picking those side projects up that you've be neglecting. We're looking to ramp up for the upcoming year starting in January and February, but we're going to squeeze one last event in for 2018! But first...

WE HAVE OUR MASCOT!

With 41% of the vote, Mountain Goat, was the top pick. If you are an artist or know one, we need to work on some designs. Ideally the logo is not too detailed so that we can provide different versions for all of the events and regions that we host in the future. For examples checkout the Golang Gopher. If you're interested, get in touch! I'd love to have something to kick the year off and get some sweet developer swag cooked up.

Anchorage Meetup - 11/27 6:45pm - 9:45pm @ The Boardroom AK(NEW LOCATION!! - 721 1st Ave, 99501) We will be hosting a panel discussion talking about the directions software developers can take their career. We will leaders in the community ranging from startup founders ( Tune in Seattle ), software managers, local contracting firms, and freelancers talking about the different directions you can take your career and where we see the landscape for developers in the next 2-3 years.

Anchorage VMUG - 11/27 12pm - 4pm @ the Anchorage Fireweed Business Center (Ciri Building) 725 E Fireweed for lunch and an afternoon of learning from our friends @ciscoDC @rubrikInc & @MorpheusData.
