Push Notification is a message that pops up on the mobile device to alert users with notifications and to re-engage users. This simple action is undoubtedly the most important tool for improving connectivity and message deliverable rates between any two avenues, for instance, between applications and their users.

MACROKIOSK is determined to offer the best channel in its push notification capabilities and connectivity. Today, MACROKIOSK’s push notification connectivity encompasses various key digital technologies from Short Messaging Services (SMS) to Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) to bridging the Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, namely WhatsApp Business and Facebook Messenger.

This continuous commitment allows MACROKIOSK’s clientele the capabilities to deliver their messages to a wider audience and across multiple OTT platforms in any device, whether IOS or Android, and at the same time eliminating the concern of being restricted to a certain delivery channel.

MACROKIOSK’s push notification is typically used to inform timely transactions such as displaying real-time sports scores, upcoming event updates, or getting users to take action, such as downloading a coupon for redemption.

Getting To Know The Project Management Office at MACROKIOSK

Ms. Elaine Choon

Project Management Office (PMO) is important for high-level efficiency and effectiveness of project management across the organisation. While not every organisation has a PMO department, it is becoming an increasingly critical part of a business to ensure the successful delivery of any project. Ms Elaine Choon, Chief Project Officer, explains about the functions of PMO at MACROKIOSK.

Can you explain briefly about the role and responsibilities of PMO at MACROKIOSK?
PMO is responsible for centralising and coordinating the successful delivery of projects, programs and portfolio based on highest business value and strategic objectives of the organisation. We manage and allocate resources accurately across projects based on business priorities. PMO establishes and maintains appropriate set of tools/templates, standard procedures and processes to ensure projects are successfully initiated, planned and completed consistently. We track and report all project initiatives across the company, including consolidated reporting of cost, progress, issues and timelines.

While PMO aims to improve Corporate Performance by managing and optimising the company’s business processes, PMO also oversees and administers the governance of ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) by ensuring the company’s assets and information are systematically and securely managed. On top of that, PMO is also tasked to back the initiatives of data analytics.

What are the key objectives of PMO?
Our vision is to enhance customer satisfaction, increase communication, and develop scalable methodologies, processes and solutions to help the company achieve its objectives. These include achieving organisation-specific benefits through the standardisation and methodical use of project management policies and processes, optimizing business processes to reduce cost and improve operational efficiency, as well as facilitating and enabling quicker decision-making based on data to assist in increasing revenue and reducing operational cost.

As PMO collaborates with various departments across the organisation, how do you support each department in achieving the successful completion of projects?
PMO aims to build an environment of ownership among stakeholders which are ultimately responsible for project success. We foster a common project culture and mindset by informing, communicating and training employees about the different techniques, methodologies and best practices. We also help to develop common project languages by defining milestone and metrics, so that everyone is working toward a common objective.

PMO governs whistleblowing, too. What are your views on the importance of whistleblowing within the company?
Whistleblowing standard operating procedure (SOP) is important as it fosters a culture of transparency, integrity and accountability within the organisation. It allows employees to come forward and voice their concerns about any wrongdoing within the company without fear through a dedicated and systematic communication channel. It serves to protect and reassure the workforce while maintaining a healthy working culture within the MACROKIOSK group of companies.

How can MACROKIOSK employees learn more about best practices, policies and procedures when they embark on a project?
PMO establishes, publishes and maintains all best practices, policies and procedures in MACROKIOSK SharePoint, which all employees can refer to whenever needed. Nonetheless, PMO always ensures all employees, especially Project Managers, are familiar with all processes and procedures by conducting training, briefing or coaching whenever necessary.
