WINTER AIM WEEKEND – REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
Sign up by January 11th to get the best rate (still just $25.00 registration for a whole weekend!) and secure your spot at our Winter AIM Weekend at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento! If you wait to register at the door the fee is $35.00. Register now and save yourself $10.00.
There will be sales tables for the host chorus and those choruses going to International next September. Also, the Young Singers Foundation will have a table with Laurel Birch items. There will be something that’s sure to please every buyer and you will be helping our choruses raise funds to help with International expenses.
WHAT YOU GET
Every AIM weekend brings you the kind of education that only an International Faculty member can bring – in this case, our former International President, Certified Expression Judge, and chair of the Education Direction Committee, Marcia Pinvidic! She’ll be providing great classes on
Understanding the Expression category
Converting dreams into goals
Really understanding and conveying musicality
Fun with rhythm and rhythmic elements
Marcia will also have some great information on motivation, for directors.
Winter AIM is the time we feature our novice quartets and double quartets in a Saturday night parade, complete with judges and trial scorers. No prizes, lots of glory! Stay tuned for information on how to sign up for the parade.
We also have a day just for Young Women in Harmony, so let those young female singers in your life know and have them register soon for a fun day learning and performing.
And back by popular demand is L.A.W. School, Region 12’s training ground for directors, assistant directors, section leaders, and those who’d like to learn more about the art of conducting. Of course, we need SINGERS most of all – waving your arms doesn’t make much sense otherwise. The song for January will be “When I Take My Sugar to Tea.” Sign up for LAW School and download the music soon!
Have you heard about the Region 12 Tag Arranging Contest? It’s going to be such fun and great experience for all arrangers and wanna-be arrangers. Click here for more information: Contest Rules, Flyer
We’ll also feature classes by Regional Faculty and Circle 12 members on:
Music selection for quartets
How to do an Open Division package
How to create a compelling performance package of any kind
Barbershop chords
How to be a great section leader
Delegation for chorus leaders
Intro to becoming Regional faculty, for Circle 12 members only
The Sticky Stuff about quartetting, part 2
Both the YWIH chorus and Circle 12 will be performing.
You can sign up for a free PVI given by a Regional Faculty member, and quartets can sign up for an hour of free coaching by Regional Faculty. Stay tuned for signup information – limited number of spots available.
DCP participants, remember to arrange for testing with Angela Suraci!
