Some of our recent projects which your contributions help support include:
Repatriation of Mississippi 1941-1942 Recordings
As part of ACE’s mission to repatriate Lomax Collection material to communities of origin, Alan Lomax’s Mississippi 1941-1942 recordings were returned to the Delta Center for Cultural and Learning at Delta State University (Cleveland, MS), where we partnered to develop education lesson plans, build a dedicated research website and produced a series of podcasts (with NEA grant support). We also participated in public repatriation events at the International Conference on the Blues with members of Muddy Waters’ Morganfield family, local dignitaries, and a tribute to John Lee Hooker.
Choreometrics Film Digitization Project
With the aid of a grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation, we recently completed preservation digital transfers of 10 films choreometrics films from the collection. ACE needs support for processing, coding, cataloging and incorporating these items into the Global Jukebox, offering access to new film resources and material for dance and movement analysis.
