Today, Tuesday the 27th of November, is a day when millions of people around the globe give to nonprofit organizations, knowing that their donations will have great impact.

This Giving Tuesday, we are so grateful for all the ways you all have supported the Monteverde Institute. You have reforested our landscapes. You have inspired the next generation of community leaders. You have assisted addressing contaminated water issues. You have rebuilt our towns after the devastation of Tropical Storm Nate. As we enter this season of giving and charity, we need you more than ever.

You may have read the reports about habitat loss and challenges facing the environment such as the scientific predictions regarding the effects of climate change  to our natural environ and contructed environment. To increase our resilience, we plant trees and advance knowledge about sustainability. In light of the potential of disasters like Tropical Storm Nate, that impacted our region in 2017, the Monteverde community has asked the Institute to act as an official emergency center —and we are stepping up to embrace this role.
