DUT RECEIVES PRIZE FOR THE NRF EXCELLERATION AWARD
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) continues to be at the forefront of research capacity development, which is in line with its Strategic Plan’s Strategic Focus Area 2: Building Research and Innovation for development in terms of its Research, Innovation and Engagement agenda.
This was affirmed as DUT recently received the National Research Foundation (NRF) Excelleration Award for South African Research Institutions 2018.

DUTS MDLAKA AND PROF SHODE’S PRODUCTS GAIN POPULARITY AT CAIRO EXHIBITION
Professor Francis Oluwole Shode and Master’s Biotechnology student Sibongile Mdlaka from the Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Department of Biotechnology and Food Technology, were given the prestigious opportunity to showcase their innovative products at the 5th International Cairo Exhibition of Innovation (Cairo Innovates) which took place in Cairo, Egypt from 8 to 9 November 2018.
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) hosted the launch of the Chancellor’s Club on Monday, 19 November 2018 at DUT’s Hotel School, Conference Centre on the Ritson Campus.
This high-powered and intimate event was attended by the captains of industry and other influential external stakeholders. It was also graced by the presence of DUT Chancellor, Ms Nonkululeko Nyembezi, Chairperson of Council, Mr Wiseman Madinane and Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Thandwa Mthembu as well as other members of the Executive Management and Council.
