4^th General Assembly of the Peoples' Coalition on Food Sovereignty

Towards a stronger network for food sovereignty

On 28 October 2018, the Peoples Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS) held its 4^th General Assembly in Surat Thani province, Thailand with the theme
“Defend Our Victories! Assert Peoples’ Rights to Land,
Water, and Food!”

Attending delegates and observers were from 14 countries, representing Asia, Latin America and the Carribean, Africa, Middle East and North Africa, and Europe. The assembly was hosted by the Southern Peasants Federation of Thailand.

PCFS to UNHRC: Investigate State-backed Land Grabs

Cambodia -- More than 1,000 farmers led by the Coalition of Cambodian Farmers Communities (CCFC) and Ponlok Khmer (PKH) from around the country gathered to submit their land dispute claims to various government agencies in the capital Phnom Penh on Nov. 6, but were blocked by authorities.

One Million Farmers to March to Delhi for Rights

India -- More than a million farmers led by different groups under the coordination of All India Kisan and Muzdoor Sanghatan (AIKMS) are set to march from different parts of the country to converge in Delhi on 29th and 30th of November. The Farmers’ trade union Andhra Pradesh Agricultural Workers Union (APVVU) will lead the Southern leg of the upcoming march on 29th November and will highlight landgrabbing cases as part of the farmers’ demands
