  6. We'll pick 3-4 books related to Hawaii (see herehere, and here for ideas)
  7. One of these four books related to food, in partnership with Slow Foods Oahu and Da Shop including Epitaph for a Peach by David MatsumotoThe Book of Salt by Monique Truong, Thomas Jefferson’s Crème Brulee by Thomas Craughwell, or Hippe Food by Jonathan Kauffman

For 2018, we asked people to make book recommendations that fall under one of the six categories. 1) Woman author 2) A book related to a place you're from (author, setting, or topic) 3) Indigenous author 4) A perspective other than your own (however you want to interpret this) 5) A memoir or biography on a leader 6) Sci-fi or near-future setting
