Help Keep Our School Healthy
There is illness going around Eagle Staff. Please help keep our community healthy by encouraging your students to wash their hands before eating at school and when they get home. If your student is sick, keep them home for 24 hours after last throwing up.

After School Academy
Raven After School Academy started this Tue, Dec 11 and will continue to Tue and Thu, 4–5 pm. After School Academy staff will collaborate with classroom teachers to support students in reinforcing classroom learning and completing work. Flyers will be posted around school, and students will be encouraged to attend.

Lost & Found is Full Again
The lost and found racks are overflowing. Please take a look for lost treasures when you're at school in the next few weeks. Unclaimed items will be donated over winter break.

Japan Trip FUNDrive!
Students in Japanese 1B & 2 are collecting used clothes, shoes, and soft household items (blankets, sheets, curtains, etc.) to raise money for their trip to Japan this spring. Drop your donations at the office (there is a donation box) or at our community drop off event on Sat, Jan 12 (details TBD). Please think of us as you’re purging your closets this holiday season! Arigato Gozaimasu!

New Student Open House
Spread the word! The Eagle Staff open house and tour for future Ravens will be on Thu, Jan 10, 7–8:30 pm. Note that SPS open enrollment is Feb 4–15.

PE Waivers
PE waiver forms are available in the front office and are due Fri, Dec 21. PE waivers are only required for medical or religious reasons. Students taking two full-year electives (world language and music) do not need to submit a waiver form.

Preorder Yearbooks
RESMS yearbooks are available for pre-order until Fri, Dec 14. Order yours now (only $20 or $25 with personalized name stamp). You may also request a scholarship, or contribute to the yearbook scholarship fund.

Yearbooks will be distributed at the end of the school year.

Marvel Movie Nights at RESMS
Join us for upcoming family movie nights at RESMS. Open to all RESMS students and their families. Admission is $5 each. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Movies start at 7 pm. Concessions will be available for $1–3. Last movie night of the year is this Sat, Dec 15 (Thor).

Thank you to everyone who has already donated! We are looking forward to providing gift cards for 70 RESMS and Cascadia students who will benefit from our community's generosity this holiday season. We have extended the contribution deadline to this Fri, Dec 14:
Please contribute in one of two ways:
- Bring cards ($10 SBux, $25 Fred Meyer, $25 Regal/AMC, or movie tickets) to the main office in a sealed envelope marked PTSA.
- Donate online directly to the PTSA and we'll purchase cards.

PTSA Meeting & Holiday Social
Join us Mon, Dec, 17, 6:30–8:30 pm, at Naked City Brewery (8564 Greenwood Ave. N)! All are welcome to attend a very short PTSA meeting followed by time to socialize. (We'll also be preparing Giving Tree gift packs to provide to our school counselors the following day.) Please stop by to say hello and enjoy a refreshment!

Safety Lights Available
It's dark out there! PTSA received a donation of blue blinking lights (to attach to backpacks) and white bike lights (to attach to handlbars) to keep our Ravens safe when walking or biking to school. If you'd like a light, please ask Ms. Francine in the main office.

RESMS Community Music Events
- Tue, Dec 11: Winter orchestra and guitar concert, 7–8 pm in the commons.
- Thu, Dec 13: Winter band concert, 7–8 pm in the commons.
- Sun, Dec 16: A select group of Eagle Staff musicians will be joined by musicians from the UW to perform at Candy Cane Lane in the Ravenna neighborhood. Candy Cane Lane performances begin at 7 pm. Read the Candy Cane Lane performance flyer.

Parenting with Positive Discipline
This course provides skills and tools to get to the core of conflict and bring more peace and joy to your home. Learn to strike an important balance between being kind and firm in a fun, relaxing, and supportive atmosphere.
Class runs Thursdays, Jan 17–Feb 28 (skip Feb 21), 6:30–9 pm at the Greenwood Senior Center.

North Central Little League
Register now for the upcoming spring little league season. Boys and girls 5–15 living or going to school within the North Central Little League boundary are welcome. Registration open through the end of Jan. Season opens in March with games through June. Read more about North Central Little League.

BHS Winter Concert Series
At their individual concerts, the choir (Dec 18), band (Dec 19), and orchestra (Dec 20) will each present a selection of works that represent their programs for the first part of the concert. Each evening will culminate in a masterwork performance with a full symphonic orchestra and choir featuring selections from Handel’s Messiah. This year will likely be a standing room only crowd.
Free seating is general admission (doors usually open shortly after 7 pm), but assigned seating can be reserved for a donation to the music program. Look at upcoming events and search for the concert you wish to attend.

KD80 | Bring the Gold Ultimate Frisbee Clinic & Tournament
Free ultimate frisbee clinic for elementary and middle school players. Sun, Dec 16 , 9 am–noon at Ingraham HS (1819 N 135th St.). Every player gets a disc and potluck lunch afterwards. Participants must preregister and sign the DiscNW event waiver.

Seattle Cascades Winter Ultimate Camps
The Seattle Cascades are hosting a youth ultimate camp for elementary and middle school players Dec 26 (Lower Woodland), 27 (Georgetown), and 28 (Miller Playfield), 12–3 pm. Choose one, two, or all three days! We will offer a variety of drills suitable for different levels of play, so all experience levels are encouraged to attend. Cost is $50 for 1 day, $90 for 2 days, $120 for 3 days. Players should preregister. Registration includes jersey, shorts, or disc. Financial aid available upon request (contact Monica at monica@seattlecascades.com).
