What a great success for A Night Out in Rossland (ANOIR)! Lots of great music and dancing, scrumptious food and a varied silent auction. A huge thank you to Andrea Pierce for spearheading this wonderful fundraiser. She did an amazing job. There are lots of others to thank from businesses who gave donations, to volunteers and students who helped out.

Thanks to Debate Mentor Volunteers
A big thank you to Tom and Sydney Gomez for volunteering to mentor the debate team. Sydney was a debater herself and went as far as Nationals when she was in High School. Her dad, Tom, learned a lot about debate supporting his daughter. Sydney will be mentoring from Vancouver using technology to connect with the students. Tom will be the contact person here in Rossland. Thanks to this great team for giving our students the ability to learn debate skills that will serve them well all through life!

YES Camp Opportunity
Every year the Nelson and District Credit Union sponsors youth from our area to attend YES camp on Lake Cowichan. This camp helps build communication, leadership, and cooperation skills in youth aged 14-18. This camp has always received positive feedback from those youth who attend, including students from 7S. If you would like more information about the camp and how you or someone could be sponsored next year please contact Tom Atkins at the Nelson and District Credit Union at 250-352-7207 or by clicking here. You can also find more information about the camp here.
BlackJack Ski Club in Need of Volunteers for Races
Black Jack Cross Country Ski Club is hosting Kootenay Cup Races on Dec 15th and 16th. The profits from the race will go to the skier development program, which some students are part of. The club is looking for volunteers to help with stadium set up, timing, course marshalling, and course work. They are also looking for a photographer for the event. It is a great opportunity for students to get volunteer hours and for adults to help out in the greater community with one of our athletic partners. If you can volunteer please click here.
