Traditional Film and Print meeting
London 3D Meeting - Saturday 8 Dec 2018

The London 3D Meeting is this Saturday 8th Dec 2018, it will be the Traditional Film and Print meeting. Please bring along about 10 slides or prints to share your images with members.  Slides will be projected to the entire audience and prints can be displayed around the room for other members to view in their own time.  Please bring appropriate print viewers or anaglyph glasses etc for any prints you bring to help people enjoy your images.

It would be nice to bring a few festive bites to share in the extended interval.

The second half of the meeting is a social and table top demonstrations; please bring along some of your equipment to show to other members.

This is always a very popular and social meeting with members showing their recent images or delving into their archives.

We shall also be projecting Kate Sullivan's 60 second animated "Untold Tales" documentary celebrating The Stereoscopic Society filmed at a recent London meeting.

We will project all six "Untold Tales" one minute videos funded by The Arts Council via ‘Animate Projects and Anim18’ and have invited visitors interested in the project to join us.  Anim18 is a UK-wide celebration of British animation that gives voice to untold stories of life in the UK, and explores our rich and culturally diverse communities.

Doors open at 2pm for a 2:30pm start, finishing by 5pm.
Entrance: £5.00 including refreshments. First time visitors free.
Held at St Pancras Church Hall, Lancing Street, Camden, NW1 1NA off Eversholt Street opposite east side of Euston Station.
See web site for further details.

Stereoscopic Society Competition 2019
Closing Date 31st January 2019.

Entries are now being accepted for The Stereoscopic Society Annual Exhibition 2019.

You should have received the entry form with the recent society journal, or you can find the form on the Society website. Look under Membership Benefits; Competition and Exhibition and then click on Download form.

Please note a change of competition organizer to Mike Hillyard who you should send your entries to, full address and contact details on the entry form or email competition@stereoscopicsociety.org.uk

As in previous years the intention is to show all images submitted, except those with viewing problems, at the London and Coventry meetings, and a shortened show of winners at the annual convention.

David Ford has organised the competition for over ten years and has unfortunately been very unwell recently and not in a position to run the competition this year.  Thankfully David is on the road to recovery, I'm sure you will all join us in wishing him a speedy full recovery, and also thank Mike Hillyard for taking on yet another task for the society.

Next Dates:

January 5th 2019:
Host: Francis Heath

(A) CRITIQUE OF STEREO IMAGES: What makes a good stereo image, one that perhaps could be the winner in a competition? Factors such as composition, camera position and lighting can all make a difference when we take the picture. Can we also improve our original image by masking, cropping or digital processing? Members are requested to bring some digital images for projection and discussion to help all of us to produce even better images.

(B) 3D AV AND VIDEO SHOWS: Projection of international award winning presentations, including some ISU CODE Shows, (images from other 3D clubs around the world).
