All the dinner ideas and deals for this weeks Seasonal fare.

Raspberries are the super hot deal this week, make the most of them with every recipe you know. I made this Raspberry Fool on the weekend (don't be confused by the Blueberries in the picture, they were just in the fridge but are also really good this week).

Seasonal Tip: This is the week for Strawberries. All the growers around Auckland are in a flush. I would expect the price to stay about the same for the next 10 days (depending on the weather). Get into it this week.

Drums

Drumsticks are great for a BBQ. Hopefully Winter will finish sometime this week so we can all get into the Christmas Spirit. If it does here is a very easy method for putting some drumsticks on the BBQ.

Rhubarb

Rhubarb seems like a funny thing to have on the Blackboard this week but it is an excellent companion to Strawberries. If you have never tried it you are missing out. Have a bash at this Strawberry, Ricotta & Rhubarb Tart. Coincidently, we started stocking some nice Ricotta from Il Casaro this week.

Eye Fillet for Christmas

We still have a few cases of Whole NZ Eye Fillet but we will run out before Christmas so get in this week and get yours. These Eye Fillets have already been trimmed so for the perfect roast all you need to do is tie it up. Here is a good video if you want the show stopping Christmas dinner.

Getting Stoned

All the Stone Fruit has started. We have Peaches, Apricots and Nectarines all on the Blackboard this week. Nothing beats oven Roasted Stone Fruit so grab a couple of bags and bang them in the oven, you can finish it off with some Cream or Mascarpone.
