5 Ways to Give Local

Still searching for perfect presents? We've put together a local list with so much choice we almost guarantee you'll find something for everyone. Here are some of our top suggestions:

Give unique. Craft ACT’s shop offers a range of unique objects by local and national makers. Maybe a Territory shaped brooch for a Canberra diehard? Perhaps a set of cheese tools for the entertainer? Visit Craft ACT’s shop to discover what’s on offer from earrings to water jugs and unique pieces in between. Check opening hours on their website.

Give hands on. Know someone who likes to try new things? Canberra Glassworks offers a range of short, make your own sessions and longer courses on a range of glass techniques for all ages. Glass blowing, kiln forming, flameworking and coldworking are just some of the techniques they could learn. Not sure what they are? Check out Canberra Glassworks website for all the information.

Give all year. If you can’t decide what to get them, put the choice in their hands with a gift voucher from The Street Theatre. Vouchers can be purchased for any amount, used for any show and last all year. With options like theatre, comedy, jazz, opera, experimental arts and music, there’s something to entertain everyone. Check out what’s on and purchase vouchers from The Street Theatre’s website.
Give a little. Good things come in small packages. If you’re travelling for Christmas or shopping for a minimalist, check out the Gallery of Small Things. Housed in the tiniest gallery in Canberra, find works in textiles, ceramics, paintings, photography, jewellery and print media. Shop online and in store.

That’s a wrap! Put the finishing touches on your locally bought gift with Megalo Print Studio + Gallery’s wrapping paper and cards. The Megalo Print Emporium also has some gift ideas including books, prints, and Megalo merchandise. Get in quick because they close for year on Saturday! Visit Megalo’s website for details.
