Cultivating the worth within our roots
It is very common for the plant kingdom to draw their nutrition, vitality and medicine down from their trunks, leaves, and stems down into the roots. We can learn a lot from nature if we are open enough to receiving those messages. The added complexity to this particular winter is the social, political, and societal climate that we are all in!
I have found that it's been a theme within my own life, as well as in the life of those around me - where we have all been trying to root down where we are, but distractions are popping up all over the place. Our contemporary society does make it hard to focus internally at this time of year (especially with the focus on giving even when you might not have anything left to give), but if we go back to our daily practices of gratitude, compassion, and humility, we can learn how to find the eye of the storm.
The Power Path especially talks about navigating through this turbulent time with grace and humility since the theme for this month is Chaos. The purpose is not to ignore the fact that the storm is happening, it's to be able to be the people of power who can grow our roots deeper despite the distractions. Scientists tried to recreate a natural environment indoors where they control all the variables, and they noticed all of the trees after a certain point, would fall over. The missing part of the equation was the wind. Because there was no wind in this artificial reality, the trees were not encouraged to grow deep roots, and hence fell over because they were not challenged.
Use this opportunity this winter to allow the distractions to show you deeper meaning within yourself and root more firmly into who you are and what you came here to do. Find the eye in the storm and keep taking the next step even though it makes no sense right now. Because in the end, you will find that you can weather the storm and you are made stronger because of it.
December blessings and with deep gratitude,
Stephanie
