Ready to Cool Down for Warmth?

Dollar Energy Fund will be hosting its 5th Annual Cool Down for Warmth event in Market Square on January 24 & 25, 2019. We are currently looking for individuals and sponsors to help us raise awareness and funds for Dollar Energy Fund. The event will feature a massive ice house, giveaways and the Bowls for Warmth Soup Tasting. Click below for more event information and find out how you can participate.

AEP Neighbor to Neighbor Programs Open

Neighbor to Neighbor Programs in Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee are now accepting applications for utility assistance grants for the 2018-2019 winter heating season. Eligible customers of AEP Ohio, Appalachian Power in West Virginia and Virginia, and Kingsport Power Company in Tennessee, who need help during the winter months can apply for financial assistance to maintain or restore their electric service. Program and eligibility guidelines may vary.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Once again this year, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is hosting a fundraiser for Dollar Energy Fund in partnership with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. A portion of ticket sales for the Orchestra’s Pittsburgh shows on Friday, December 28, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., at PPG Paints Arena, will be donated to our organization. Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster.

Topgolf Fundraiser Recap

Dollar Energy Fund welcomed 80 golfers to Topgolf Pittsburgh in Bridgeville, PA on Thursday, November 29, 2018. The Topgolf Fundraiser raised $12,210, including a dollar-for-dollar match from Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, to benefit customers in need. The amount raised will provide gas assistance to approximately 35 households who are struggling to stay warm this winter.

Through the combined effort of 3WS Pittsburgh and our supporters, the Winter Warm Up Request-A-Thon raised $93,872 to benefit more than 260 Pittsburgh households.

Make an Impact With Your Year-End Giving

The end of the year is rapidly approaching. As 2018 comes to a close, please consider making a donation to Dollar Energy Fund. If you would like your year-end donation to be tax deductible for 2018, your mailed contribution must be postmarked by December 31st. Electronic donations can also be processed on our website through December 31st.

Of course, giving is much more than saving on your taxes. All gifts to Dollar Energy Fund will receive a dollar-for-dollar match from our partnering utility companies and 100% of the donations and matching funds will be used to provide utility assistance grants to local families in need through our Hardship Program.
