Board of Directors Members - The Daily Tar Heel / Chapel Hill, NC
Interested in the future of media, advertising, or journalism? The Daily Tar Heel is recruiting student members for its nonprofit Board of Directors. The board has strategy, fundraising and financial oversight duties but no editorial role.  No previous board experience is required.

The Daily Tar Heel Board of Directors is the publisher of The Daily Tar Heel newspaper and is responsible for the legacy and financial health of those publications as well as the 1893 Brand Studio and other properties associated with DTH Media Corp.

This spring, we seek applications from undergraduate and graduate students with an interest or expertise in legal work, budgeting, human resources, and/or fundraising. Please find more information here. The deadline to submit your application is December 9th.

The Lead Newsletter
The Lead is a newsletter for journalism students in both college and high school. In the first ten issues, the newsletter has addressed various challenges student journalists face, including balancing journalism with school, preparing for internship applications and taking care of yourself when covering trauma.

We’ve also featured student journalists’ innovative work, like the Georgetown Hoya’s project tracing their school’s slaveholding past and the Elon News Network’s first bilingual edition. Every issue also includes tools, internships, trainings, scholarships, and readings.

Spanish Immersion Journalism Program - Bolivian Express
Bolivian Express is a non-profit, online and print publication that provides students with a learning experience in Bolivia - a country rich with Indigenous cultures, extensive biodiversity and one of Latin America's fastest growing economies. We offer 1-3 month internship programmes in journalism, video documentary production or Spanish.

Interns collaborate to create a theme for each issue and content to match; a short documentary is also made alongside each month’s theme (here is our Vimeo channel). Students and graduates from a wide range of countries and disciplines (including: social sciences, humanities, international relations, journalism, communications, Spanish, film & TV) work as a team to create each issue of Bolivian Express from inception to publication.

We take up to 8 participants every month, we recommend applying as soon as possible because often we run out of places (especially during the summer months). Visit the website for more information.

Eightcount.tv is the home for the boxing die-hard. We are a community of passionate boxing enthusiasts that not only love to watch fights, but also enjoy looking at fight data to better understand and predict fight outcomes. We're not just another boxing news site. We are a group of digital media professionals, former boxers, and multi-sport athletes and that are obsessed with the sweet science and want to combine statistical rigor and analysis with top-notch editorial. 

IMAGIN DESIGN COLLECTIVE LLC d/b/a IMAGIN Media, is seeking a creative, hands-on boxing pundit to join our Eightcount.tv team as a boxing writer and social media intern. Interns will get the chance to publisher editorial content for a start-up media brand to a national audience and also attend boxing events (press tours, weigh-ins, fights, etc.) in Los Angeles, New York and Las Vegas (we’ll pay for you to travel!!). You will also help grow our audience across Eightcount.tv’s various social media handles by posting high quality pictures and videos along with, captions and questions to engage new and existing followers.

This position will hold primary responsibility of writing radio scripts and planning and coordinating content for the University’s public safety radio station.

Assistant Director of Career Services - UNC MJ-School / Chapel Hill, NC
The Assistant Director of Career Services provides a range of career preparation programs and advising for nearly 1,000 undergraduate and 50 masters students in the UNC School of Media and Journalism. The Assistant Director creates and implements engaging and enriching programs, such as networking trips with alumni in major markets; Meet the Pros sessions where students engage with industry leaders; an alumni mentorship program; and the Lookout Fellows Program and other funded internship opportunities.

The Assistant Director conducts advising sessions and workshops on internship and first job searches, helping to finetune resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles and online portfolios. The Assistant Director manages career-related communications, including a listserv of internship and job postings, social media and website. The Assistant Director manages relationships with employers, alumni, University Career Services and colleagues within the MJ-school. Communications and Broadcasting Assistant - Richmond Flying Squirrels / Richmond, VA
The Richmond Flying Squirrels, the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, are hiring a Communications & Broadcasting Assistant for the 2019 season. Contract Journalist Position- Your Local Studio / Cary, NC
Your Local Studio, a video agency in Cary, is looking to hire a journalist to help with content writing and storytelling. Ideally someone who can jump into any industry, research potential stories, and help write video scripts and blog articles accordingly.
