In This Issue:  Fish and Chip Supper, please book now; Junior Sports Personality of the Year; The Ice Box Series; News from the AGM; Annual Dinner Photos; Membership Renewals
Please book now for The Fish and Chips Supper

The fab fish and chips supper with marvellous mini-quiz is just 10 days away, and the fish and chip shop would like us to give numbers a week in advance as it will be a large order, so please please email snowmail@btinternet.com as soon as you can to confirm your tickets.  It's just £10 per head for fish and chips and afters, including a mini-quiz.  It's all very informal, you don't need to make up teams unless you want to and will be guaranteed to be a fun evening.

If you were at the Dinner on Saturday and told me you were coming, you don't need to email to confirm - everyone else does!  If you were not at the Dinner - see below - but if you think you have a trophy to collect, we will present your prizes at the Fish and Chip supper.
The Annual Dinner and Prizegiving

As you can see from the images above, the clubhouse became a very sophisticated venue for the prize-giving - see prizewinners above,  and everyone who attended enjoyed a great meal, found out some interesting facts about their fellow club members(!), and danced the night away.  If you missed it this year, please come next year and join the fun.

Huge thanks due to the Social Committee and especially Sue and Karen for putting the whole evening together.

Don't forget if you were not able to collect your prize you have another opportunity at the Fish and Chip Supper.

A Papercourt Sports Personality of the Year

Did you know that the Elmbridge Young Sports Personality of the year, is none other than our very own 12 year old Finian Morris who, along with others in the youth section, has been out on the Oppie Circuit, and has achieved:

2nd British Junior Nationals (under 13) - Pwhellli in August
4th Irish Junior Nationals - Kinsale in August
Qualified for 2018/2019 Optimist National Squad, top 20 sailors in the country.
3rd at the End of Season Championships at Poole, Main Fleet
Elmbridge Junior Sports Personality 2018

Please see below for a photo of Finian in the dinghy park at the British Nationals and with Chemmy Alcott after being presented with the Elmbridge Junior Sports Personality Award 2018.

As previously reported a whole raft of our young sailors have performed brilliantly this year, spreading the word about our fabulous club by their achievements.  Huge congratulations to all the sailors, trainers, and parents for their efforts.
The AGM - It happened on 22nd November

At the AGM club members hear from the Flag Officers about what has been happening over the last year, and the future plans for the club, (including the galley refit in Mid January) and the members elect a whole variety of Officers and Committees, and Appointees to all of the 70 odd volunteer posts that make Papercourt the volunteer member run club that it is.

Membership Renewals - Membership Secretary

Our Membership Secretary, Judith is unfortunately unwell in hospital, and we send her our sincerest best wishes for a speedy recovery.

This may mean that the membership renewal email you are expecting to pop into your inbox any minute now, will be delayed whilst we arrange for someone to see how far Judith had got with preparations for sending out the renewals, and then pressing the appropriate buttons.  Please be patient, we will get them out to you as soon as we can.   Once it arrives, don't forget there is an early settlement discount.
