We're into the final sprint of 2018 and this is the time of year when it can be the most difficult to keep balanced, fit and healthy. I encourage all of my clients to enjoy the holiday season. Spend time with family and friends and indulge in the holiday treats that bring you joy. But don't let a full blown rumschpringe blow all you've accomplished this year. To invigorate your commitment to your health, consider getting into the pool and working on your flip turns, trying my new pumpkin spice apple protein muffins or taking my free 8-week 10k training program. Flip Turns 101

I’ve always wanted to be one of the cool kids in the pool and do those fancy flip turns while swimming laps. Turns out, flip turns not only look cool, but they’re also super efficient allowing you to improve your speed and save valuable energy. But like lots of things, they can be tricky to master and require practice and persistence. I was lucky enough to get a 1/1 lesson from the amazing Anne Kuenning and in this video she demonstrates how a good flip turn looks and then explains/demos the three most common flip turn mistakes.

JJ’s Basic B*tch Pumpkin Spice Apple Protein Muffins

I've been obsessed with my Blueberry Explosion Protein Muffins for years. I make them every Sunday and have two every day as a post workout treat. This week catastrophe happened. I ran out of blueberries and was too lazy to go to the store. But I did have apples so I figured, why not?! The result was a delicious reinvention of my favorite recipe perfect for fall.
