Looking Back
- Ten years ago Pastor P heard about Bible translation while talking with his good friend, Dr. A. He said, "You know, I speak the Padim language, and we have no Bible in our language. If my people could read the Bible in their own language, they would know how much God loves them." That led Dr. A. on a long journey to where he now leads one of the largest Bible translation organizations in South Asia, and his team is nearing completion of the Padim New Testament. Pastor P, who has been a significant advocate for the translation work over the past 10 years, passed away yesterday, just three months before the dedication of the Padim NT. Yesterday, on the first stop of my current South Asia visit, I met with Dr. A and his leadership team and some of the Padim team who are now completing the final checks of the NT before typesetting begins in a few days. What began ten years ago as an innocent comment from a pastor friend, is now a thriving ministry of holistic engagement in 60+ languages. Please pray for Dr. A and his team as they consider ways to continue to serve more language communities while facing increasing opposition from government authorities.
- Last EBO I asked prayer for God's guidance as I considered a couple of different positions within Seed Company. Can I ask you to keep praying? Thanks.

Looking Ahead--Please Pray
- One of the first projects I helped get started with Seed Company was among ten languages called the Bamboo Terraces Cluster. In a few days I get to be part of celebrating the release of the first Scripture, the Gospel of Luke, in 7 of those languages! Representatives from each of those communities will be there to bring back copies for celebrations in each of their communities before Christmas.
- Pray for strength and wisdom over the next five days as I meet with lots of people in multiple locations to review current progress and develop plans for new work in a bunch of new languages.
- From South Asia I fly straight to Texas where I'll meet Laura Beth, Caleb and Luke for the wedding of one of our Nepal family. Should be quite the joyous reunion!
