Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for supporting our projects! We are taking this opportunity to celebrate our progress this year and to humbly ask for your support in reaching our final 2018 goal – finishing the new Ibungilo School Girls' Bathroom before the students return for their next semester in January. 2018 Has been a wonderful year!

Together, with your generosity, we have:

  • Served 1300 breakfasts to students who were arriving to school hungry;
  • Provided around 600 students and 40 teachers with wiring and electricity in a school that had been running in the dark;
  • Purchased 343 new text books for classrooms that in some cases had no textbooks at all;
  • Supported 222 students with enough locally-made menstrual pads to last them 1-2 years;
  • Supported about 200 students in Girls Empowerment Clubs at 2 schools with resource books, class materials, and safe drinking water.

Help us finish the new girls' bathroom!
With one month to go before the girls of Ibungilo Secondary School return from holiday break, we’d love to secure safe and sanitary facilities for them by finishing our bathroom construction project!

Ibungilo School currently has 3 toilets and no sinks available to its 573 female students. This not only leads to unreasonable wait times and poor sanitation, it exacerbates the prevalence of UTIs and transmissible diseases and creates a situation in which students sometimes have to choose between respecting their bodies and attending their classes.
  • Situation now: 3 toilets, 0 sinks for 573 female students
  • Our goal: 10 toilets, 2 sinks by the end of January
  • Remaining Cost: $1300
The Kesho Fund is working to alleviate the situation by constructing a new building with more toilets, large sinks, and a privacy room. We’ve laid the foundation, build the walls, and installed the roof, but it will take $1300 more for plumbing, doors, painting, and other finishing processes.

With your help, we can empower these students to pursue their education in a safer environment! Would you please consider making a difference in our goal today?

There are many things that will help our projects change more lives, but one critical aspect is people knowing about us! Please take time to share this newsletter, our social media information, or our story with your friends and family today.

The Kesho Fund is nothing without its donors, supporters, and encouragers. Thank you for being a voice for students who often are marginalized or forgotten. We love our partners and are fiercely grateful for your support!
