Coram's News

Marquee / generators
You all will have seen the marquee is now in the park, along with the diesel generators. Coram's Fields management and trustees have been working on a solution over the year. They have looked at the possibility of replacing the generators with an electricity supply (the cost of this was £230k and would involve a permanent substation), using biofuel instead of diesel, moving the generators to Lansdowne Terrace, hybrid generators, getting bespoke filters made, supplementing the generators with a smaller electrical supply, and leasing a gas fuelled micro turbine and level 5 generators. Some of these options have been ruled out and some are still being looked at for next time.
Coram's Management have been in touch with Kings College London for advice replacing / limiting diesel use. Kings College are monitoring the air in the park this month and also in January.
Management have also been contacting fairgrounds and ice rinks to try and establish best practice.
Coram's Fields have also purchased an air purifier for the nursery.
We continue to press Coram's management to get a satisfactory resolution to this problem. CFUG do not want the marquee or adult rental in general - we have a vision of a park for children only, and want to work with the management and trustees to achieve this.

Pitch Usage / Rental of the park
The Trustees and management have taken our recommendations and comments with regards to the pitch and park hire very seriously. They will be setting up a subcommittee to look into this in detail and involving users.
In the meantime, they hope to move rental booking to the Coram's Fields website and highlight safeguarding procedures to all pitch users.

Lawns
Coram's Fields have had three quotes ranging from £11k to £42k to completely replace both lawns. This may involve breaking up the top soil and re-seeding, meaning that the lawns could be out of action for a few weeks. Final decision to be made at the January trustee meeting. With all of these important issues, we will be keeping you up to date.

Silent Auction

For a unique Christmas present, look no further than the silent auction in aid of Coram's Fields.

Arianna Anselmi has a flair for creating beautiful cakes and she has spent weeks crafting five unique, gorgeous centrepieces, made out of gingerbread, chocolate and nuts. These creations are edible - although please read the allergen list and notice below - but are probably best left as decorative centrepieces. Each one could be a welcome addition to a festive dinner table or as a unique present for friends and/or family.

Bids for each creation can be cast until the end of Thursday 6th December, with starting bids at £100. Winners will be contacted individually thereafter.
