Annual cocktail fundraiser
The LINCCO Fall Fundraiser, held at the Fuschia Restaurant, LaSalle College in Montreal, drew a large number of guests. Thirteen year old Alexander D’Alexio, accompanied by Kevin Bazinet, the winner of “La Voix” in 2015, captivated the audience with their music. The auction items were also a big hit.

To all of our sponsors, donors and guests, we want to express our gratitude for making this a very successful event. $16,000 was raised in support of the Master’s Program in Health Administration at the Institut Supérieur en Sciences Infirmières in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Baccaulaureate program in Nursing Science

In 2014, l’Institut Supérieur en Sciences Infirmières (ISSI) transformed the certificate program in nursing into a four-year bachelor’s degree program in nursing science. This innovative program is based on professionalism and a deep grounding in ethics. To date, 179 nurses are enrolled in the course. Twenty-seven students from the initial cohort received their diplomas on July 31. Authorities from the Ministry of Health attended the ceremony and offered employment to each of the graduate nurses.

Masters Program in Health Administration

In August of this year, 20 professionals were awarded their Master’s degree in Health Science Administration.

A new group of 18 students began their studies this October.

Ivory Coast projects

Our contact in Ivory Coast writes that in the village of M’Batto Bouaké, in the rural zone of Bingerville, families living in poverty strive to give their children a better future. The mothers work in the manioc fields and make a traditional food called l’ attiéké which is laborious to produce but brings in little income. They don’t have the means to send each of their children to school and have to choose which one of them will get an education.

LINCCO is helping ease the burden through its school scholarship program and its Christmas Basket Campaign.

Please consider purchasing one of our Gift Baskets to brighten a child’s Christmas. You can select from one of several options on our
website.

Uganda health camp

LINCCO is supporting a community initiative medical camp at St. Claret Health Centre in Nyabwina-Mbarara, Uganda on November 30th and December 1st. The camp provides diagnostic services, health care and dental care to people who cannot access a hospital.

Other fundraising news

Funds have been raised this fall to support projects in Lebanon and the Philippines. The funds will benefit adolescents, living in Lebanon, through social activities and training programs. 17 transportation scholarships are being awarded to young girls from poor rural areas enabling them to attend courses at Punlaan School in Manila.

In the words of the Director of the Punlaan School, Anne Marie Jacinto, “Thank you again for your generous support!”
