Let the Festivities Continue!

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving Feast- our biggest one yet! Thanks to all of you who prepared food ahead of time, sat down with our students and their families, and enjoyed this yearly tradition. Great memories were once again made.

Did you see the incredible success of our fundraising campaign last week? We far exceeded our goal! We are humbled by the support we received from you all. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 

We have more festivities on the horizon. 

• On Thursday, 12/13, we will be decorating holiday cookies during tutoring. Each tutor-student pair will get released to go decorate and eat together. If you can provide items for this event, contact melissa@sdrefugeetutoring for a list of our needs. 

• On Tuesday, 12/18, we will be doing our annual Book/ Gift/ Hygiene Giveaway during tutoring.  All students will receive books to take home and keep. We are committed to getting literacy tools into our students' homes before every trimester break. We need many, many hygiene items for this event too. Please bring full-sized toiletry items to tutoring from now until 12/18. We will give each family one bag to take home. Items needed include: toothbrushes, toothpaste, men and women's deodorant, women's sanitary pads, shampoo and conditioner, soap-bars or body wash, and laundry detergent.

• If you have a flexible schedule, Ibarra Elementary can use your help to run a booth at their Winter Festival (think Fall Carnival) on Wednesday, 12/19 from 1-3pm. Email melissa@sdrefugeetutoring.com if you would like to join! 

Thank you for your kindness this past week. It really was so touching. Mark your calendars because Ibarra is a year-round school and Tuesday, Dec. 18th is the LAST DAY OF TUTORING FOR ONE MONTH! Tutoring resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019!
