The Region was so close to finally bringing back a Road Rally event on December 8. Unfortunately, due to disagreements over the event advertisements and how the event registration was set up through RPM Alaska without the Board’s knowledge or authorization, our Rallymaster resigned from the event. With no Rallymaster we have no Road Rally, so I contacted the National Office and cancelled the sanction. On a brighter note, the Board is still looking to have a Road Rally to close out the year, so stay tuned for details as they develop.
We also have events coming in January, with RallyCross kicking off on the ice at Big Lake starting January 12. The SCCA National Convention will be in Las Vegas again, from January 17-19 at the SouthPoint Hotel. As usual, there will be a lot of training sessions for just about everything SCCA does, and it’s always a good time to hang out with the rest of the SCCA family. If you’re interested in going, there’s a link to the event on the main page at scca.com that can get you to the registration information. After December 16 the price goes up $60, so don’t delay!
