Morning <<First Name>>,

I'm beat. It's crazy week - but I still want to highlight a few key stories and get you all to the OutSummit on Saturday! I hope you'll join if you're in NYC.
It's already been an incredible week for OutRight, with nearly 50 activists from every region around the world. Telling their stories to government officials, advocating for change and advancing equality, these leaders also witnessed the emotional induction of Canada and Ecuador into the LGBTI Core Group (the Canadian Ambassador invoked her gay son's name!). Now 25 countries openly advocate for the rights of LGBTIQ people at the UN. And Tuesday, OutRight's event focused on LGBTIQ rights in Asia raised awareness (and funds) to keep the fight alive.
Are you excited to participate in an all day conference about advancing global LGBTIQ issues? Join OutRight on Saturday, Dec 8 at CUNY Law School - for the OutSummit as nearly 50 activists from around the world join diplomats, journalists, supporters and all interested in the global movement to strategize and discuss what's next. Lawyers who brought the case against India's law opposing same-sex sexuality - and won! - will speak along with TV personality Karamo Brown from the Netflix revamp Queer Eye. Register at OutSummit.org
Saturday is OutRight's annual OutSummit (nearly decade now alongside International Human Rights Day) and this week Victory Fund's conference in DC - looking ahead is Task Force's annual Creating Change summit January 24-27 this year in frigid Detroit - that's a must-do for me! And the IGLA World Conference this year in Wellington March 18-22. But besides the opportunities to and learn about the advance of equality, there's also the unique annual parties like Mid-Atlantic Leather weekend in DC MLK weekend and Winter Party in Miami!

The Wall Street Journal covers the LGBT crackdown in Tanzania. And other sources report LGBT people are fleeing the country.

In Micronesia, the celebration of the country's first pride turned and passage of a non-discrimination bill turned sour when a Senator introduced a bill to ban trans people from government.

The proposed host of the Oscars, Kevin Hart has stepped down due to previous anti-LGBT jokes and tweets, and offered an apology for his prior behavior.

Online content is being censored even more - as Facebook apparently won't even let you confirm your sexual identity - after Tumblr banned porn and reportedly lost many users.

  Travel

What app are you using when you travel? The Washington Post says people are swiping left on Grindr.

The Auckland Pride Committee survived a no confidence vote - and will continue to hold pride without many sponsors - after police marching in Pride in uniform were refused registration. Police officers fought for the right to be out at work - but the committee believes LGBTIQ people don't feel safe with uniformed police at the event.
