Last month, I completely forgot to send you an email. I was caught up in the sequel to Don't Mean a Thing and finally got to type those two beautiful words - the end.
Actually, I finished the first draft while sitting in my car killing time until my work shift started, sighed, then closed the laptop. It was the next day that I reopened the file and typed The End just so I could take a photo and post it on Instagram and Facebook. And it's not really the end. I should have typed The Edits.

I usually put up our Christmas tree on the first of December but this weekend was filled with my daughter's birthday party so the tree didn't go up until Monday night. The kids had a ball helping with the decorations and I only had to move about a quarter of them after they went to bed.
The tree feels huge, it's almost touching the ceiling. We weren't aiming for an imposing look this year - more of an attempt to keep the dangly bits out of the direct line of sight of our new kitten, Daisy. Stop laughing. I know she can see the tree. I know she will climb the tree, more than once. I know. But let me have this Christmas daydream, if only for a little while.
