The Jewish Student Union held their first Shabbat dinner of the semester. The dinner included prayers in Hebrew and English as well as a blessing of the Challah, bread traditionally baked for Shabbat. Photo by Molly Lowney/The Beacon.

While the number of students who identify as Jewish at UP might be small, the new Jewish Student Union aims to bring these students together to celebrate their faith and traditions. 

As of last Friday, three Villa Maria Hall RAs were terminated from their positions after an off-campus drinking event. 

In light of new federal policies on sexual assault proposed by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, UP's Title IX Office wants to make sure students have an outlet to voice questions and concerns regarding their processes or resources.


After a conference in Seattle in 2017, three UP professors launched a course, Social Determinants of Health, that spends half its class periods serving the community in the New Columbia neighborhood.

Sports

Volleyball is now in the quarterfinals of the NIVC after wins against Northern Colorado and Utah Valley. The team will take on UNLV in the third round tonight at 7 p.m. in the Chiles Center.


In their fifth win of the season, women's basketball beat Utah State 61-54, giving them the best start since the 2001-02 season. 


Pilot Roundup: It was quite the season for the Pilots, and Sports Editor Kyle Garcia has the rundown of everything that happened for our teams this fall and what to expect in the coming semester.

After starting at Physical Plant in 2013, Dan Seabeck rose through the ranks and is now the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Game Operations. Read the story of his journey.

These are the highest ranking positions a cadet can achieve within their four years in ROTC.
