About three weeks ago, tragedy struck my home. One of our dogs, whose name was Charlie, died in my arms. It was a sad day for me, for my wife Kristin, and for our two children, Seth and Abby. Charlie is the smaller dog pictured below.
What happened was this. I decided to take our three dogs (Pooka, pictured above, Charlie, and little Eva) for a walk down our quiet street beside our home in Priest River, Idaho. I take walks regularly with my dogs. On this particular day, a car approached behind us. The driver saw me and the dogs, and slowed down. No problem yet. But as that car slowly rolled right past us, another larger neighborhood dog just happened to spring out of his yard at that exact moment. Trotting around the passing car, he lunged toward little Charlie, wanting to play. Seeing the new dog, Charlie suddenly backed up right under the back wheel of the passing car, which rolled over him in front of my eyes. It was so sad! Charlie then crawled under my legs with his remaining strength. He had no visible signs of damage, so, I had a flicker of hope. I carefully picked him up and carried his little body to our house. Jeff Kyle, who works with me at White Horse Media, then drove us to the vet. Unfortunately, Charlie died in my arms in the car. Seth and Abby took it pretty hard, for they loved that little dog. In honor of Charlie, and in an attempt to turn his death into something good, we have decided to offer my book, Will My Pet Go to Heaven? at a deep discount during the month of December.
Its regular retail price is $11.99. During December, we’ve slashed the price to only $5.95 per book. I wrote this book not long after Kristin and I were married. Back then, we had no children, and Jax was our dog. He was like our child to us. Tragically, Jax was also hit by a car right in front of our eyes. Will My Pet Go to Heaven? describes our drama, plus my search into the Bible to see if there was any hope of ever seeing Jax again. You’ll be amazed at what I found! This book is a wonderful story for anyone who loves animals. Plus, it’s a great missionary book that shares Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, with pet loves.
Will My Pet Go to Heaven? will make a perfect holiday gift
during the month of December, in honor of little Charlie.
Our family has adjusted to life without Charlie.
We hope to see him again someday, if the good Lord wills.
