From the President
Happy Holidays to you and yours. Fish reports have been good and tournaments have been well attended. All looks good for our December 8th Christmas Party. The crew is here and all hands are on deck to make this the best Christmas party of all. 42 people have signed up so far. The party will be at the Eagles Club on Branch St. in Kalamazoo.
I will not be your President next year, but I will be around to help your new President get started. I plan on continuing to run the Connie McGowan, Kids Camp and Trip Swap. Tournament dates have been set and we’ll be sending them to the sport fishing newsletters. The first tournament of the year should be a blast, The Squirrel Blast Tournament on January 5. Contact me if you want to attend, or help.
This has been a great year for me as your President. I have enjoyed many events and have endured a few speed bumps with lots of help from you. Thank you all. The election committee is looking for some people. We have room on the board, and we need some help on a couple of tournaments.
I know next year will be another great year to be a Battle Creek Steelheader

Tackle Box for December 2019
The Chapter Challenge was December 1st with the Southwest Chapter. We lost to the Southwest Chapter they had 30.9 lbs. and we had 27.4 lbs. for 3 fish. Total of 50 people fishing and 17 fish caught.
There only two people who caught fish from our Chapter, Denny Knoll had a nice fish and Kevin Ouzts had 3 nice fish.
The Southwest Chapter did an outstanding job and a lot of prizes including Custom Rods. Todd Brill was the big winner, Biggest Fish and Side Pot winner.
Guys we need to have more participation in this event. A few more people we could have won.
